I hope everyone had a good time at Wilstem this year! I think we set a record with no real breakage.

Time to start planning for our trip to Silverlake Michigan.

Dates: September 25, 26, and 27

Hotel: Dunes Waterfront Resort
1180 N. Shore Rd.
Mears, MI 49436
(231) 873-5500

Hotel Deal!!!!!! September Special-Celebrate Fall in Silver Lake
Pay the regular rate the first night and the second consecutive night in the same room is just $30.00! Offer valid September 7-10 and 13-30, 2009. No other discounts may be used with this offer. Rates range from $107 to $147.

General Info:
Friday
- Meet Friday morning in front of the Starbucks/Panera (next to Ashley Furniture - Greyhound Pass and US 31, here is the MAP) at 8:30AM. We pull out around 9AM.....
- Head up US 31, all the way to Mears, MI. Takes about 5-6 hours. Here is the ROUTE.
- We will stop for lunch along the way
- Head out on the Dunes for a few hours Friday afternoon/evening

Saturday
- All day on the dunes!
- Break for lunch back near the hotel
- Dinner has a few choices: gas-station pizza, the little restaurant by the hotel, or the steak joint just outside of Mears. I'll be heading for steak!

Sunday
- Most folks head for home after breakfast, but some may want another few hours on the dunes!

You Need:
- a Michigan ORV pass ($16.25) and then a daily fee ($3 - I think)
- a flag that is 10' from the ground is required (available several places up there). We tend to have a few spares as well. Flags need a 1/2" hole to mount.

More SilverLake info is HERE

We can nail down details at the September meeting.

So, who is up for some sand?

Just a reminder:
We are meeting just a bit farther north, at the Wal-mart parking lot. I think it is the next stop light on 31 (if you are heading north). Marlo and I will likely stop @ Panara's for breakfast still, and then cruise on over.

We head north at 9AM sharp! CB channel 16...

10-day forecast is showing cool weather (in the upper 60's). Still too far out for accurate predictions, but sounds good so far!
